Workshop participants discuss ways to make city the "cycling capital of India"
Local authorities in Bangalore announced their commitment to bicycling and walking at a Cycling Inclusive Planning Workshop, held on January 31.
The goal was to find sustainable cycling solutions to combat congestion and traffic accidents, as well as health problems, like asthma and other cardiorespiratory diseases, associated with high pollution levels.

On September 1, 2008, EMBARQ officially opened its first project office in India. Located in Parel, Mumbai, EMBARQ-India’s new home was made possible by the generous support of WRI board member, Jamshyd Godrej.
