EMBARQ India, initiates BRT Peer Review workshop
Published on Jul 13 2010

A peer review workshop at the Mumbai Transformation Support Unit was led by EMBARQ.

The goal of the workshop was to review the design and technical parameters of the BRTS corridor as recommended in the feasibility report for the Mumbai BRT, submitted by CES-AECOM to MMRDA in January 2010.

The review was well attended by officials from CES, transport activists and analysts who have been associated with this issue and members from EMBARQ and ITDP. The first half of the day was spent on discussing the technical aspects of the report like bus stop design, bus types and other parameters, and during the second half the results were presented to Mr. UPS Madan (MTSU) and Mr. Srinivas from MMRDA.

As a follow up, EMBARQ is working on a detailed report on institutional structure & accessibility design for the BRT system.

The meeting was held on 26th July 2010 at Mumbai.
