EMBARQ experts highlight importance of sustainable transport.
Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and EMBARQ organized a half-day workshop on March 25 highlighting the importance of sustainable transport in Indian cities.
The workshop involved more than 50 senior goverment officials and delegates from the state of Chhattisgarh.
A new publication, “Bus Karo: A Guidebook on Bus Planning & Operations,” released today by EMBARQ India, provides case studies, recommendations, and specific methodologies that serve as a helpful reference to Indian cities and states as they set up new transit agencies, operate buses, monitor their performance and develop frameworks for continuous system improvement.

Road traffic crashes are among the leading causes of death and disability in Indian cities, but the trend can be reversed through sustainable transport and planning that prioritizes people, not vehicles, concluded a group of public health and transport experts at today’s “Sustainable Transport Saves Lives” roundtable discussion.
